We are Not Along

April 2, 2010

Today it is my 4dpt.. Based on the development of embryos, blastocyst start to attach to a site on the uterine lining.

I watched a movie named Have You Heard about the Morgans. The Morgans was separating because of many reasons. The root cause was the infertility problem! It is obvious that more and more people are aware of infertility issues and IVF treatments due to the fact that many people are undergoing this very same personal issue. The infertility issue might damage your marriage if you can’t handle the emotional and psychological pressures during your IVF journey.

It was reported that infertility affects about 16% of couples who try to conceive. Today as many as 1 to 2% of children born in Canada and the US are conceived through high-tech reproductive technologies such as IVF, ICSI and IUI.

It has been eight months since I started this IVF Adventure blog. So far, this blog has welcomed 1406 visitors from all over the world. They found IVF Adventure from Google, Yahoo! or other search engines. You can imagine how many people in the world are looking for IVF information.

Two Week Waiting

April 1, 2010

First day: mostly bed rest even thought the instruction says bed rest is not necessary. I felt tired and sore in ovary area. Lying in bed made me feel better. I couldn’t sit too long.  I walked around the house once a while since I can’t stay in bed the whole day.

Second day: I felt a little better and start to watch TV, read books and surf the net. I ate fresh pineapple but not the core. I kept praying.

Third day: I felt much better and more relaxed. I made jokes with DH. At night we watched Survivor and cheered for the Heroes. We also watched The Office. The episode was about a pregnant office lady and her labor story. Pretty funny. I laughed so much that I was a little worried about my dear embryos. I should stay in a calm mood, right?

I normally like to have a long hot show ever night. Now I limited my show to about 5 minutes. No hot tub and long show during 2WW.

I know I have to be patient. I have been waiting for so long. I don’t mind two more weeks. πŸ™‚

How are you doing, my friend?

All eggs will do 3-day ICSI. Egg transfer (ET) is scheduled next Tuesday, March 30, 2010. We are planning to transfer 2 highest quality embryos.

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. πŸ™‚

Cycle Day 10 of #2 IVF

March 24, 2010

I started Synarel nasal spray on March 15, 2010 and it is CD10 today. We went for Ultrasound and blood test this morning. There are 6-7 follicles on both sides of my ovary which is great. E2 level was a little bit too high,10,000. Since it dropped yesterday for some reason, my clink asked me to do 375 UI Gonal-F injection last night and E2 came back super high today. Today I was asked not to do any injection because my clinic doesn’t want to see E2 keep increasing.

It has been a tough week for me. I planned to have this week off but I cancelled the vacation request since I got a one-week professional training opportunity. I was a little bit struggling whether I should decline the training chance to leave more time for myself. I eventually decided to challenge my body since this training opportunity is very important for my career development. I was really tired in the last two days and didn’t have enough sleep which was probably the reason why E2 dropped yesterday. I felt guilty that I didn’t choose to treat myself nicer. I have been working so hard and I really deserve a good rest.

I will do another blood test and ultrasound tomorrow to closely monitor the E2 level.

Good luck everyone. πŸ™‚

Ready for the #2 IVF

February 27, 2010

After almost a 5 months break, we are ready for the 2nd fresh IVF.

  • Start Synarel nasal spray on March 4, 2010, Date 22 of my cycle
  • First blood test and ultrasound to follow on March 15, 2010

Since it is the 2nd time, we are not as nervous as before. We don’t want to hold our life for IVF. IVF becomes part of our life.

Let’s have fun again!

Anyone is planning to have IVF or FET soon?
